Our Lacrosse Journey
James Dussich grew up in Manhasset, New York, one of the most storied lacrosse communities in the country. He picked up a stick at five years old and never put it down. Long Island shaped him as a player, but it also shaped the way he sees the game — as something that builds character, confidence, and community when kids have access to the right environment to grow.
When James and his wife relocated their family of five to Tennessee in June of 2024, he recognized an opportunity to bring that same level of development to a region where the sport is growing fast. Nashville Lacrosse Academy was created to meet that moment.
What drives James every single day is watching kids get better. The improvement in skill, the shift in confidence, the excitement that builds when a young athlete realizes they love what they are doing — that is the whole point. His goal is simple: every athlete who trains with NLA should leave feeling confident as a player and as a person, and genuinely excited to keep improving.
