Nashville Lacrosse Academy

Building strong players, supportive teammates, and confident kids one session at a time.

Our Lacrosse Journey

James Dussich grew up in Manhasset, New York, one of the most storied lacrosse communities in the country. He picked up a stick at five years old and never put it down. Long Island shaped him as a player, but it also shaped the way he sees the game — as something that builds character, confidence, and community when kids have access to the right environment to grow. From an early age, the importance of mastering fundamentals was drilled into him, and that foundation has informed everything about how NLA is built and how its coaches teach.

When James and his wife relocated their family of five to Tennessee in June of 2024, he recognized an opportunity to bring that same level of development to a region where the sport is growing fast. Nashville Lacrosse Academy was created to meet that moment.

What drives James every single day is watching kids get better. The improvement in skill, the shift in confidence, the excitement that builds when a young athlete realizes they love what they are doing — that is the whole point. His goal is simple: every athlete who trains with NLA should leave feeling confident as a player and as a person, and genuinely excited to keep improving.

Our Philosophy

Nashville Lacrosse Academy combines strong fundamentals with a developmental approach. We believe confidence grows through consistency and support. Our sessions are structured to help players become well-rounded athletes that are comfortable with the basics, aware of the field, and proud of the progress they make.

We customize coaching to each child, adjusting instruction to their learning style and experience level. No matter their starting point, every player receives the guidance they need to develop both skill and self-belief.

About Our Coaches

James Dussich

James began playing at age seven, and his love for the game grew as he developed his skills. He eventually earned MVP of the Nassau County Lacrosse Championships before playing midfield at Hobart College, where he learned invaluable lessons in teamwork.

Grace McGeeny

With a lifelong connection to lacrosse, rooted in the influence of a father who played at the Division I and professional levels, Grace brings both passion and experience to the game. A versatile defender and midfielder with over 16 years of playing experience, Grace competed as a Division I athlete at Youngstown State University before continuing a career for two years with the University of Tennessee’s club team. For more than six years, Grace has coached girls from youth through high school levels, emphasizing strong fundamentals, game intelligence, and building player confidence. Grace is deeply committed to developing strong, confident female athletes both on and off the field.

Development Coaches

Issac Bissinger

A 3-star recruit with multiple all-star tournament selections to his name, Isaac is committed to play lacrosse and study finance at Maryville University in St. Louis.

Isaac brings genuine on-field experience and a deep connection to the local lacrosse community to his role at Nashville Lacrosse Academy. He is passionate about growing the game in Middle Tennessee and investing in the next generation of players the same way the game invested in him.
