Our Lacrosse Journey
Nashville Lacrosse Academy was founded by James Dussich, a USA Certified Lacrosse Coach with more than 30 years of experience as both a Division One player and youth instructor. James began playing at age seven, and his love for the game grew as he developed his skills. He eventually earned MVP of the Nassau County Lacrosse Championships before playing midfield at Hobart College, where he learned invaluable lessons in teamwork.
After college, James and his childhood sweetheart moved to Franklin, Tennessee to raise their family. Coaching his daughters from the time they were five inspired him to continue mentoring young athletes. He realized there was a need for supportive, focused youth development for both boys’ and girls’ programs throughout the region. Nashville Lacrosse Academy was created to help players of all backgrounds learn fundamentals, grow at their own pace, and build a true love for the game.
Today, Nashville Lacrosse Academy reflects James’s lifelong passion for teaching and guiding young athletes. His approach combines individualized coaching with strong foundational training, giving children the confidence to thrive whether they’re brand new to lacrosse or preparing for more advanced opportunities in. Every session is designed to support not just athletic development, but personal growth that lasts far beyond the field.
Our Philosophy
Nashville Lacrosse Academy combines strong fundamentals with a developmental approach. We believe confidence grows through consistency and support. Our sessions are structured to help players become well-rounded athletes that are comfortable with the basics, aware of the field, and proud of the progress they make.
We customize coaching to each child, adjusting instruction to their learning style and experience level. No matter their starting point, every player receives the guidance they need to develop both skill and self-belief.
